Samruk-Green Energy successfully sells over 12,000 green certificates

Samruk-Green Energy, a subsidiary of “Samruk-Energy” JSC, has successfully launched the issuance and sale of I-REC certificates, an international standard. Over 12,000 green certificates have already been sold, indicating a growing demand in both domestic and international markets.

I-REC certificates are internationally recognized documents that provide evidence that electricity has been generated using renewable energy sources (RES). The acquisition of such certificates is becoming increasingly popular among companies seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and achieve carbon neutrality.

"The issuance of I-REC certificates of international standard is a significant step in our company's commitment to the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility. I-REC certificates are recognized in over 50 countries worldwide and serve as an additional incentive for attracting investments and implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategies. They also provide an opportunity to invest resources in further developing renewable energy sources (RES). Now domestic RES facilities can generate additional income through the certification of the energy they produce, while companies can actively implement sustainable development principles in practice," noted Kairat Maxutov, “Samruk-Energy” JSC Chairman of the Board.

It is worth noting that “Samruk-Green Energy” LLC holds leading pocsitions in the field of RES in Kazakhstan. The company offers a wide range of I-REC certificates based on electricity generated from its solar and wind power plants. Thus, Samruk-Green Energy not only expands its business scope but also makes a significant contribution to environmental conservation efforts.
