More than 2 bn. tenge has been saved by Samruk-Energy through increased energy efficiency.

Implementation of energy efficiency activities within Samruk-Energy group of companies in 2023 resulted in savings of 2.1 billion tenge (against a plan of 1.4 billion tenge). Energy conservation and efficiency enhancement are top priorities in the company's energy policy.

Samruk-Energy has developed and implemented a program aimed at energy conservation and efficiency improvement by reducing energy consumption and eliminating inefficient use of fuel and energy resources.

Given the significant share of coal-fired thermal power stations in overall electricity and heat production, Samruk-Energy places great emphasis on modernizing electrical equipment and implementing initiatives aimed at energy conservation and efficiency improvement.

In 2023, 61 measures were implemented to reduce energy resource consumption and minimize environmental impact. Key initiatives included extending the operational time of power units with turbine-driven feed pumps (TFP) from the fourth extraction stage, cleaning the condenser tube system of TFP (ESDPP-1 LLP, ESDPP-2 JSC), replacing heating surfaces in boiler units (ESDPP-2 JSC), converting lighting to LED fixtures (BK LLP), and disconnecting transformers at substations with seasonal loads of 35-10 kV and below (AZhC JSC).

At ESDPP-2, measures were taken to seal the boiler gas passage. Notably, the air excess coefficient is a critical operational factor determining fuel efficiency and overall boiler performance.
