The Chairman of the Board of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC, Nurlan Zhakupov paid a working visit to Almaty CHP-2 . The head of Samruk-Energy, Kairat Maxutov, reported on the preparation of the power plants under "APP" JSC for the upcoming autumn-winter season.
Currently, all repair works at the plants is proceeding according to schedule, and the maintenance campaign will be completed within the set deadlines. APP facilities are taking measures to obtain readiness certificates for the autumn-winter period.
The head of Samruk-Kazyna also learned about the operation of Almaty CHP-2, which is currently coal-powered, and visited the construction site of the new combined-cycle power plant at the facility.
The project is being carried out under the directive of the President. The modernization of CHP-2 and the transition to natural gas will reduce emissions and ensure a reliable supply of electricity and heat.
