Thus, the heads of the divisions in charge of occupational safety issues completed international NEBOSH safety courses, CEOs of “Samruk-Energy” JSC companies continuously undergo trainings.Today, the company is introducing a new integrated security management model. The project is implemented as part of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC transformation and involves a transition to occupational health and safety protection management model based on an occupational risks evaluation. The project’s outcome should be a 30% reduction of workplace accidents until 2025, as well as 20% increase in the safety culture level through the improvement of the HSE management system (health, safety and the environment).However, now, the central focus of “Samruk-Energy” JSC Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection Department has become the issues of prevention the spread of coronavirus infection epidemic (CVI).

The main task is to help ensure the regular operation of all strategic energy-producing and coal-mining organizations of Samruk-Energy, the largest Kazakhstani power holding company and full performance of their obligations to consumers regarding the supply of electricity and power producing coal.In order to prevent diseases of employees, “Samruk-Energy” JSC and its power producing enterprises that are part of it, have established Prompt Response Offices and have approved Action Plans for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.As part of these actions, a set of measures is being implemented at power plants, including sanitization of vehicles for personnel delivery, as well as work and amenity spaces, cancellation of all sports and cultural events, intensified medical examination of workers, purchase of medical masks, thermal cameras, non-contact infrared thermometers, etc. Information on prevention of coronavirus infection has been posted on information boards in all shops and departments of enterprises.As of April 27, 2020, 5 cases of infection among employees were confirmed at the subsidiaries of the company (1 employee each at “Bogatyr Komir” LLP and “ESDPP-2” JSC and 3 employees at “ESDPP-1” LLP).

Contact cases were identified for cases of illness, all enterprises for confirmed cases of CVI disease interact with the sanitary and epidemiological surveillance of Ekibastuz city and the city hospital, workplaces and buses for staff were sanitized intensively.
