
The construction of Ekibastuz CHP began in 1952, with the first boiler commissioned on December 4, 1956, marking the start of industrial electricity and heat generation for the city.
As of June 2024, the enterprise was reorganized into "Energy Solutions Center" LLP under the trust management of “Samruk-Energy” JSC.
"Energy Solutions Center" LLP is the sole provider of centralized heating for the residents of Ekibastuz city. The plant operates in a combined heat and power mode, with maximum output in the autumn-winter period reaching 502 Gcal/h and a minimum of 35 Gcal/h during the summer.

Main equipment includes:
- 5 KV-TK-100-150 boilers (total capacity: 500 Gcal/h);
- 4 BKZ-75-39 boilers (total capacity: 192 Gcal/h);
- 1 BKZ(E)-90-3.9-440 KT boiler (58 Gcal/h);
- 1 R-12-3.4/0.5m turbine generator with a capacity of 12 MW.
Over the years, Ekibastuz CHP has generated more than 3.5 bn. kWh of electricity and over 53.9 mln. Gcal of heat, making it a key energy facility for Ekibastuz city.
