At Almaty's largest thermal power plant, CHP-2 named after A. Zhakutov, the repair campaign is proceeding at full speed according to the approved schedule. This campaign includes a substantial amount of repair works on the plant’s turbine and boiler units, encompassing ongoing, interim, and major repairs.
"So far, we have completed current repairs on three turbine units and three boiler units. The personnel of PRE 'EnergoRemont' have successfully repaired two boiler units, three turbine units, and five transformers. Specifically, on boiler unit No. 2, we conducted repairs that included replacing sections of the heating surfaces and plates on the reinforced concrete gas ducts", said Abzal Zhakypbayev, the chief engineer of the plant.
Currently, repairs are underway on two boiler units and one turbine unit. By the end of the repair campaign, additional work is planned on three more boiler units and one turbine unit. These efforts aim to enhance the reliability of CHP-2's equipment and ensure the stable operation of the plant during the upcoming heating season.
