Samruk-Energy's head instructs subsidiary chief executive officers to focus on occupational safety

Chairman of the Management Board of "Samruk-Energy" JSC, Kairat Maxutov, held a meeting to review the company’s performance in workplace safety over the first nine months of 2024. The Director of the Occupational Safety Department, Duisenbek Shardarbekov, reported on the results of investigations into workplace accidents, the implementation of the Chairman’s protocol instructions, and the progress of the “Safe Production” project.

Chief executive officers of "Almaty Power Plants" JSC and "Ekibastuz SDPP-2" JSC informed the meeting participants about the measures being taken to ensure safe working conditions and to prevent injuries at the plants.

In his address, the head of Samruk-Energy, highlighting the company group’s commitment to the Vision Zero principles, emphasized the need to improve the culture of workplace safety among employees and increase the accountability of responsible officials.

Following the meeting, Kairat Maxutov instructed the heads of subsidiary and affiliates to place special emphasis on occupational safety issues and to ensure strict adherence to workplace safety regulations. He also recommended exploring the use of artificial intelligence and the implementation of video analytics. Additionally, by order of the head of Samruk-Energy, safety audits will be conducted across all production facilities in the near future.

“Safety protects the lives of our employees, so occupational safety must always be a priority. Each of our workers must return home safe and sound, where their families await them”, concluded Kairat Maxutov.
