Samruk-Energy power plants successfully complete the heating season

"Samruk-Energy" JSC ensured uninterrupted electricity and heat supply throughout the 2024–2025 autumn-winter period and has successfully concluded the heating season. During this period, the company’s thermal power plants (TPPs) generated 18.6 billion kWh of electricity, while the amount of heat energy supplied reached 4.4 million Gcal. Throughout the entire heating season, the power stations operated in normal mode, adhering strictly to the temperature schedules for heat delivery.

As part of the 2024–2025 autumn-winter period (AWP), Unit No. 1 with a capacity of 500 MW was commissioned at Ekibastuz SSDPP-1, increasing the plant’s total installed capacity to 4,000 MW. This marked the first time in the last 30 years that the station transitioned to an eight-unit operational mode.

Compared to the same period of 2023–2024, electricity generation at Samruk-Energy’s plants increased by 4% during the current heating season. This growth was made possible, among other factors, by a significant reduction in the number of technological disruptions—demonstrating the effectiveness of ongoing maintenance efforts, equipment modernization, and improved operational practices.

Notably, at Ekibastuz CHP, which was transferred to "Samruk-Energy" JSC under trust management in June last year, timely repairs of several power boilers and auxiliary equipment ensured reliable and stable operation of the plant during the autumn-winter period.

The Almaty CHP-1, CHP-2, and CHP-3 also successfully completed the heating season, continuously supplying electricity and thermal energy to consumers in Almaty city and  Almaty region.

With the heating season concluded, Samruk-Energy’s plants have promptly begun preparations for the next autumn-winter period. Active repair work is already underway at energy facilities. A total of 114 repairs on 105 units of main equipment are scheduled for this year. The repair campaign will be conducted in accordance with the approved schedule, ensuring that all Samruk-Energy stations are fully prepared for the upcoming heating season.
