Samruk-Energy and local trade union sign new collective agreement

Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy, Kairat Maxutov, and Chairman of the public association Local Trade Union of Samruk-Energy, Orazbek Bekbas, have signed a new collective agreement effective for the period from 2025 to 2027. The document reflects both parties’ commitment to strengthening social partnership, enhancing the protection of employees’ labor rights, and improving working conditions.

One of the key innovations is the expansion of the grounds for concluding the collective agreement, taking into account the provisions of the sectoral agreement for the upcoming three-year period. This will enable more precise alignment with industry-specific features and offer additional guarantees for employees.

The agreement also clarifies the rules governing its implementation, including the procedure for employee accession, participation in voting, and decision-making. These provisions are designed to ensure greater transparency and understanding for all stakeholders.

A significant portion of the agreement is devoted to dispute resolution. It includes provisions and mechanisms for resolving labor disputes. In the event of a disagreement, a special commission shall be established, and there is also the option to refer the matter to a tripartite commission. This framework provides additional guarantees for the fair consideration of contentious issues.

Particular attention is given to social guarantees. The agreement includes provisions for additional paid leave, wage indexation in line with inflation, and occupational health and safety measures. Provisions related to employee wellness programs, recreational activities, and leisure have been expanded. Measures to strengthen employee social protection—such as working conditions and the enforcement of labor rights—have also been enhanced.

The signing of the new collective agreement represents an important step in the development of Samruk-Energy’s corporate culture and in strengthening dialogue between the employer and the workforce.
