As part of the Astana International Forum (AIF) and the Kazakhstan-Italy Business Forum, Chairman of the Management Board of "Samruk-Energy" JSC Kairat Maxutov held a meeting with CEO of Ansaldo Energia Fabrizio Fabbri. Both parties discussed current and future areas of cooperation.
Regarding current projects, the discussion focused on the supply of gas turbines for the "Reconstruction of Almaty CHP-3" project. Ansaldo Energia confirmed that the equipment will be delivered within the agreed timeline. The first gas turbine unit is scheduled to be shipped from the company’s manufacturing facility in Italy in June this year, with delivery to the construction site in Kazakhstan expected by September.
In terms of future cooperation, the parties explored the possibility of establishing a service center and localizing the production of certain gas turbine components in Kazakhstan. This includes the potential to supply equipment for other projects within the Samruk-Energy portfolio, such as the Kyzylorda CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) plant. It was emphasized that any future partnership would be built on equal terms, taking into account the interests and capabilities of both parties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both companies expressed a strong commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and agreed to make every effort to ensure the successful implementation of joint projects.
