As part of the official visit of the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, to Kazakhstan, Samruk-Energy JSC and SACE S.p.A. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
SACE S.p.A. is an insurance and financial group under the authority of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Italy.
The signed document is aimed at strengthening business ties in the power sector and identifying opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two parties. This initiative is expected to contribute to the expansion of economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy.
“We believe this Memorandum will serve as a practical instrument for implementing joint projects and attracting investment. It will also reinforce Kazakhstan’s position as a reliable energy partner for Italy in the region” -, Kairat Maxutov, Chairman of the Management Board, Samruk-Energy JSC.
The Memorandum provides for cooperation in investment projects initiated by Samruk-Energy JSC, utilizing export credit insurance mechanisms and other forms of guarantee support in favor of Italian companies, including small and medium-sized enterprises.
The projected volume of such support may reach up to 300 million euro.
