Samruk-Energy Internship Program: From Almaty to Genoa

Four students from the G.Daukeyev Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications (AUPET) completed an internship at the University of Genoa (Italy) with the support of Samruk-Energy JSC. The participants included Elvira Zhanibekova, Alnur Zinelgabiden, Nurdaulet Makhsot, and Serik Sandibek.

The internship was implemented within the framework of the strategic partnership between Almaty Power Plants JSC (APP JSC) and AUPET, aimed at training qualified professionals for the energy sector. Upon completion of their studies at the university, the participants will work at APP power plants.

As part of the program, the students took courses related to the design and operation of gas turbine units. They also completed industrial training at Ansaldo Energia, a leading global company in the energy sector.

“At the University of Genoa, we studied subjects related to gas turbine units, their structure, operating principles, and current trends in the energy industry. This knowledge broadens our professional outlook and helps us apply modern approaches in the power sector”,- the students shared. “We gained valuable experience by combining practical training at a domestic power company with education at a leading European university. This experience will contribute to our professional growth and the development of competencies needed for Kazakhstan’s energy industry”.

“Studying at the University of Genoa is a great opportunity to learn about advanced energy technologies and exchange experience with international students”,- noted Serik Sandibek. “I am very glad to be part of this program.”

Alnur Zinelgabiden added: “Studying in Italy is not only about new knowledge, but also a major life experience. We learned about up-to-date approaches to gas turbine operations and visited laboratories”.
