Qazaq Green Power PLC, a subsidiary of Samruk-Energy, in partnership with China Energy, continues the implementation of a 300 MW solar power plant project in the Sauran district of the Turkistan region. The project is now in full-scale construction, with foundation works underway and installation of the plant’s main equipment having commenced on site.
To date, office facilities, residential accommodation blocks, and warehouse facilities for the solar power plant have been completed.
Total investment in the project is expected to exceed USD 200 million. Once commissioned, the plant is projected to generate more than 600 million kWh of clean electricity annually. The project will increase the share of renewable energy in Kazakhstan’s power system and help address electricity shortages in the country’s southern regions.
The project incorporates advanced technologies, including an energy storage system designed to enhance generation stability and improve the efficiency of power delivery to the national grid.
In addition, the project will create new jobs, attract investment to the region, and support further infrastructure development.
The project is being implemented under the Agreement on Cooperation in Renewable Energy between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The solar power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in 2027.
