Kairat Maxutov, Chairman of the Board of "Samruk-Energy" JSC and Lin Xiaodan, Chairman of the Board of China Energy, held talks on the implementation of joint renewable energy projects. The discussions focused on the construction of a 300 MW solar power plant in the Turkestan region and a 500 MW wind power plant in the Karaganda region.
Both parties acknowledged significant progress in advancing these initiatives and explored the establishment of a project company tasked with developing the solar power plant. The meeting also addressed the alignment of key project documents, including the Investment Agreement (IA) and the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which are critical for moving the projects forward.
Special attention was given to a solar power plant project in the Turkestan region featuring an energy storage system. Currently, the project is awaiting the completion of design and survey work, with construction slated to begin in September 2025 and commissioning expected by the end of 2026.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to successfully delivering these joint projects and further strengthening their strategic partnership in the renewable energy sector.
