A strategic meeting was held at Samruk-Energy JSC with the participation of Chairman of the Management Board Kairat Maxutov and the management team of TotalEnergies, a key partner in the implementation of the 1 GW Mirny Wind Power Plant project, which includes an energy storage system.
The parties reviewed the progress of project development, addressing key technical, environmental, and infrastructure aspects. Special attention was given to the contract strategy and preparations for the start of construction and installation works, scheduled to begin in early 2026. The EPC contract is expected to be signed in the fourth quarter of this year.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to moving swiftly into the implementation phase. With its focus on localization and adherence to sustainability principles, the Mirny Wind Power Plant will make a significant contribution to achieving Kazakhstan’s energy transition goals.
The partnership between Samruk-Energy JSC and TotalEnergies supports the country’s national climate objectives and aligns with the provisions of the Special Agreement between Kazakhstan and France on cooperation in combating global warming, ratified in February 2024.
