Nurzhan Isabayev has been appointed Managing Director for Legal support and Asset management at Samruk-Energy JSC. He previously served as Managing Director for Legal Affairs at Almaty Power Plants JSC, a subsidiary of the Company.
Isabayev is a graduate of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan and the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications. He also holds an Executive MBA from Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I. Satpayev.
He began his career in law enforcement in 2001 and has since held senior legal roles across the private sector, including with the UMEX Group, BDO Tax and Advisory, Almaty Power Plants JSC, and Insight Consult. From 2023 to 2026, he headed the legal function at Almaty Power Plants JSC.
He has more than 22 years of professional experience, including over nine years in the power sector and within the Samruk-Kazyna group.
