Nurlibek Nalibayev reviews progress of key investment and infrastructure projects in Akmola region

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlibek Nalibayev visited Akmola region as part of an official visit, where he and the mayor of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov reviewed the implementation of major investment and infrastructure projects.

Particular attention was given to the modernization of the energy infrastructure. In Stepnogorsk, the delegation visited a combined heat and power (CHP) plant, where preparations for the upcoming heating season are currently underway. Ongoing works are aimed at reducing the wear and tear of key equipment to 57%. The level of deterioration of heat networks has also been reduced to 59%.

The final stop of the official visit was the construction site of a new combined heat and power plant in Kokshetau, being implemented by Samruk-Energy JSC.

Summing up the visit, Nurlibek Nalibayev emphasized the importance of timely and high-quality implementation of all projects.

“The construction of the CHP plant is under the special control of the Head of State. Residents of the regional center have been waiting for this project for many years. In addition, the large-scale modernization of 124 railway stations is being carried out in the country for the first time, including 16 in Akmola region. It is necessary to ensure high pace of work and complete all projects within the established deadlines”, the First Deputy Prime Minister noted.
