As part of the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said of Oman to Kazakhstan, Samruk-Energy JSC and O-GREEN signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement. The agreement provides for the joint development of solar and wind power projects with a total installed capacity of approximately 2 GW, with the use of energy storage systems, in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and other international markets.
The agreement was signed by Ansar Aidarov, Chief Investment Officer of Samruk-Energy JSC, and Mustafa Al Hinai, Chief Executive Officer of O-GREEN.
The partnership is aimed at supplying electricity to the wholesale market, industrial consumers and data centers, including through solutions that enable round-the-clock power supply from renewable energy sources.
O-GREEN will contribute to project development and provide technical expertise. Samruk-Energy will facilitate engagement with its subsidiaries, government authorities, the power system operator and potential off-takers in Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan has significant potential for further development of renewable energy, and we see growing opportunities in Central Asia and other international markets. The focus should be on projects that are technically sound, commercially viable and aligned with the needs of the power systems in which they are implemented”-, said Ansar Aidarov, Chief Investment Officer of Samruk-Energy JSC.
O-GREEN is the Sultanate of Oman’s global platform for green energy, technology and digital infrastructure, specializing in renewable energy and infrastructure for artificial intelligence.
