Samruk-Energy JSC has supported several social initiatives in Pavlodar region to restore important historical and cultural sites and improve facilities for visitors. These projects have focused in particular on sites associated with two prominent figures in Kazakhstan’s history: poet Mashkhur Zhusup Kopeyev and academician Shapyk Shokin.
The mausoleum of Mashkhur Zhusup Kopeyev, a renowned educator, philosopher and poet, is located in the Bayanaul district of Pavlodar region. It is an important spiritual site and a place of pilgrimage for visitors from across Kazakhstan and abroad.
Samruk-Energy has helped restore the historic complex and improve its visitor facilities. The work included installing facade lighting and upgrading the walkway leading to the restrooms. The facilities now have lighting, durable vandal-resistant sanitary fixtures and independent heating. The modular buildings also feature entrance platforms, stairways with railings and a ramp with handrails. These improvements make the complex more accessible and comfortable for visitors throughout the year.

A garden of around 300 trees has been preserved near the mausoleum, where Mashkhur Zhusup Kopeyev spent the final days of his life. To protect the trees, Samruk-Energy installed an automated irrigation system, pumps and solar panels. Water storage tanks connected by pipelines have also been installed on the grounds.
Special attention was also given to improving the Sarybulak spring, which has historical ties to Mashkhur Zhusup Kopeyev and his family. To preserve and protect the spring, the surrounding area was improved: the watercourse was fenced off, a wooden shelter was built over the spring, a paved area was laid nearby, and a pedestrian footbridge with metal railings was constructed across the stream.

An illuminated outdoor sanitary area with taps and a water storage tank has been provided for visitors. Wastewater is directed to an independent septic tank to prevent it from entering the natural water body.

Another significant project was the renovation of the memorial museum dedicated to Shapyk Shokin, a renowned energy scientist and academician, in the village of Zhanazhol, Bayanaul district, Pavlodar region.
For many years, the museum was maintained largely using the resources of the local school. The building was in need of repairs, and visitor facilities needed improvement. With the involvement of Samruk-Energy team, the exterior of the building was renovated, and the lighting and furniture were upgraded.
The company’s involvement in this project holds particular professional significance. It is a tribute to a man who helped lay the foundations of the energy industry that is still being developed today by thousands of energy professionals across the country.

All these projects share a common goal: preserving Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage, honoring the memory of outstanding compatriots, and creating comfortable conditions for visitors to historically significant sites. Through these efforts, Samruk-Energy JSC makes a significant contribution to preserving historical memory and passing on national values to future generations.
